Privacy Policy
Effective date: 12 June 2026
1. Who we are
PrintRight is a web application for makers who sell 3D prints. For the purposes of UK GDPR, we are the data controller for information processed through the Service. Contact us at hello@printright.app.
2. What data we collect
Account data
Your email address and name, collected when you register. Authentication is handled by Clerk — we never store your password.
Payment data
Billing is handled entirely by Stripe. We store only your Stripe customer ID, subscription ID, and current period end date. We never see or store full card details.
Content you create
Model records, listings, materials, printers, subscriptions, settings, and any files you upload (e.g. licence proof documents). This data is stored in our database and is yours.
Usage data
Standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages visited, timestamps). These are retained for up to 30 days for security and debugging purposes.
3. How we use your data
- To provide and operate the Service
- To process payments and manage your subscription
- To send you weekly alert emails (expiring subscriptions, compliance issues) — only if you have data that warrants an alert
- To respond to support requests
- To comply with legal obligations
Legal basis: performance of contract (providing the Service), legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, service improvement), and legal obligation.
4. Third-party services
5. Data retention
We retain your account and content data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your data is permanently deleted within 30 days. Stripe retains billing records as required by applicable financial regulations.
6. Your rights (UK GDPR)
You have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of your personal data
- Rectification — correct inaccurate data
- Erasure — request deletion of your data
- Portability — export your data (Settings → Download backup)
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@printright.app. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
7. Cookies
We use only essential cookies required for authentication (set by Clerk). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you by email before material changes take effect. The current version is always at printright.app/privacy.
